More scrappy #kantha embellishment. This time, I used a thrifted camp shirt, my new stencils, and some embroidery stitches to accent the front placket. I used various thread weights and colors for added depth and dimension. That with the raw edge kanta fabric, will produce wonderful texture, with wear and washing. These little collages finally told me they wanted to be a stitch book, then distracted me until I turned them into pages. Now they each want a touch of stitching in the margins. This piece has some sparkly Essex as the “water”, so I pulled out some Glamore metallic thread from Wonderfil. It’s not the most cooperative thread, but good gracious it’s gorgeous. Totally worth a little bit more effort. I used Fruitti 12 weight cotton for the spiral stitches, also from Wonderfil. #handstitchin...
