Chef Alain Ducasse became the first chef to own 3-starred Michellin restaurants in three different cities. He started at Pavillon Landais and apprenticed for Michel Guérard, Gaston Lenôtre, and the legendary Roger Vergé. Being the survivor that he is, he was the only person to survive the 1984 Learjet crash that almost took his life.
