And it will work for oil, acrylic, gouache, and pastel. 1 - Pick a photo to paint that's not too complicated. Landscapes are good for this. 2 - Use the rule of third to decide where your focal point will be. 3 - Plan. Simplify. Look for shapes. 4 - Make a sketch by finding the 5-7 biggest shapes. 5 - Start with the dark colours. 6 - Then add the mediums. 7 - Now add the lights. 8 - Now you can add the details 9 - Finish with thick highlight colours. 10 - Sign your name & Celebrate!
