Nicola's Merlato (Italian for lace) hearts, handmade in Murano. We named these Merlato as it reminded us of the lace we find on the island of Burano. They are about 30mm (they vary as they are handmade) about 30 mm tall and have a hole diameter of about 2mm. Nicola works not in the traditional production style of Murano, but uses stainless steel and bead release working with a torch that is about 200 degrees hotter than the production beads.
