Have you ever wondered how the Church survived after all these years? The answer lies on the third person of the Trinity: the Holy Spirit. Since Pope Francis became the pope, the Church has grown to adapt in modern society. It has become more inclusive and more accepting. By these changes, we can see how the Holy Spirit works in the Church. The Holy Spirit guides the Church's leader to grow with the changing world yet still reminds people that following the path of Jesus leads to salvation.
When I almost failed my Physics class, I felt alone and lonely. I doubted myself so hard, that I always cry inside my room and sometimes, in the comfort room. But when I met Jhecy, Carla, Jhecy and Kian, my life has somehow improved (if that's the right word). I learned that I am not alone in every step of my way, that there's someone walking beside me. They taught me one of the most important lesson that I didn't learn inside the four sides of classroom: joy.
Life is full of choices that leads to infinite possibilities. Everyday, we are bombarded by choices--from the simplest one to the most complex ones but how do choose what is right and what is wrong? How do we know that we make the right decisions? We must always remember that every decision we make will affect the future, the people around you, and the environment. By simply thinking about the actions we make, I guess, we can make the world a better place.
We, Filipinos, are known for being courageous even when in great danger. We are also known for having a lot of Roman Catholic adherents. That's why, there is no doubt that Filipinos can still smile despite the hardships we experience everyday. Maybe it is in the culture, but I think is in the faith of every believer that makes our smile shine.
From the moment you were conceived, you were taken care of two people, whom you know as your parents. But when you grew up and were exposed to the outside world, you detached to them. This is how we sometimes feel about God. As humans, we are selfish in nature and it gets worse when we come to our early adulthood stage. But, let us always remember that our parents only want just the best for us and just like God.
Like what the Church is doing, we must actively campaign against the rampant violation of human rights in our society. Let's prohibit the people from the government from normalizing such horrible acts. We must be vigilant and be aware at all times. A call for action is in need by the world, let us be one of those people who will respond to the call of humanity.
The rustling leaves, the warmth of the wind, the smell of a freshly brewed coffee, and the sound of my own heartbeat. These little things we fail to appreciate everyday and we often overlook it. We are overwhelmed by the busyness of this world that we forget everything, even ourselves. We must find time to reconnect with the world through God's creation and meditation. I, for example, go out every Sunday to take a short walk out of the house to meditate and refresh my mind.
