One of the best things about hiking in fall? No crowds! 🍂✨ I hiked up to Malyovitza, a stunning summit in Rila National Park, Bulgaria, and had the entire peak to myself. 🏔️🤩 Just me, in summer there would have likely have been many other hikers there - especially on a sunny day! Watching sunrise from Vihren Peak in Pirin National Park, Bulgaria
I recently hiked up to Vihren Peak, the highest mountain in Pirin National Park, and the 2nd highest in Bulgaria. I'd done it before, but never in the middle of the night to see the sunrise. Not gonna lie, it was hard starting to hike when all I wanted to do was 😴😴😴, but I did it with a great group of women and we cheered each on. It was a good reminder that we usually regret the things we don't do, more than the things we do. The feeling of watching the sun slowly come up, was indescribable. One of those moments when it feels like all is right in the world. 💯 worth losing sleep over.

When Pirin National Park is just right in your backyard. ❤️
One of the great things about living in Bansko, Bulgaria, is having Pirin National Park right in your backyard. I hiked a new way to 2 peaks, including one of my favorite mountains, Polezhan. Hiking Belmelkin Peak in the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria
Belmelken "Peak" in the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria, turned out to be a flat rolling grassland rather than an actual peak, despite it being at 2626m. Definitely NOT a must-do mountain, but still a fun easy day out and day 91 in my #114mountaindaychallenge

Hiking Belmelkin Peak in Bulgaria
I was excited to explore the NE part of the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria, an area I haven't explored before. I did some research and found Belmelken Peak (2626m), + another smaller one. Definitely wasn't expecting this. 🤣. Still, it was a fun day and a fairly easy hike with gentle terrain, 13.48 km and 770m of elevation gain. Considering the new hiking challenge I'm contemplating, I might be wishing for more of these easy days 🙂 #bulgaria #bulgariaaesthetic #hiking
