I love salamanders. This is a black-chinned red salamander from Georgia (USA). It looks like two kinds of bright orange salamanders or newts I've seen in Connecticut: the northern spring salamander and the red-spotted newt in its juvenile "eft" stage.

The Cryptobranchidae are a family of fully aquatic salamanders commonly known as the giant salamanders. They include the largest living amphibians. The family is native to China, Japan, and the eastern United States.
