A healthy plant-based food plate should comprise 40% fruits & vegetables. 25% of the plate should be grains & starches, such as oats, rye, whole wheat, barley, millet, rice, quinoa, amaranth, potato, yams. 25% should be plant proteins, such as beans, lentils, peas, peanuts, soy products such as soy milk, soy yogurt, tofu, edamame, & tempeh. 10% of the plate comprises healthy fats such as avocados, nuts, seeds, nut & seed butter, olives & coconut milk and healthy oils such as olive oil, nut oils.

The plate method is a tool to help us envision and create well-balanced plant-based meals that provide all the essential nutrients our body needs.
