Movement in photography

Georgia: This image is shows the graphic sequence of a person diving into the water. I find it interesting how the sequence continues to the water and only a head is shown. It is a detail that I missed when first viewing the image, however once I saw it, I appreciated this more as it is a complete sequence.

This time frame depends on the camera's shutter speed. In motion blur, any object moving with respect to the camera will look blurred or smeared along the direction of relative motion.
