My friend gave me the recipe 6 months ago when I got red gel food coloring all over my new white shirt. She sprayed my shirt and it was gone when I took it out of the wash. Nurses use this for blood stains at hospitals!
Here’s what she does:
1/3 cup dawn dish soap
16 oz hydrogen peroxide
- Pour a little of the peroxide out to make room for soap. Pour in soap and shake lightly to incorporate. Apply to stain, rub into fabric then wash after it sits for 10 mins.
.

Please note: depending on the material, hydrogen peroxide could remove color. I have not had this issue yet but wanted to make a note.

before and after of a dingy white pillow getting whiter and brighter with text overlay on top that reads "most effective way to whiten shirts, bedding, towels & more" Whiten Whites, Ink Stain Removal, Brighten Whites, Laundry Tips, Green Ideas, Front Loading Washing Machine, Diy Cleaning, Laundry Hacks, Ink Stain

This truly miraculous method may just be my favorite laundry hack of all-time! I’ll be showing you exactly how to whiten whites using this simple method without bleach. I’ve been using this method for years now to brighten white shirts, bedding, and towels, and it never fails to produce astounding results.
