Orlando Fox #kangaroos

Early back in 2018, The amusement theme park WALIBI asked me to propose a new design for their mascotte, the kangaroo boy Walibi. We were several artists who have put our own version of the character, and in the end my character design hasn't been chosed. That happens ! But still, I am proud of my work and dedication I've put in it, so here is the final design, some color steps, and character design development.

The Red Kangaroo (Osphranter rufus) is the largest of all kangaroos, the largest terrestrial mammal native to Australia, and the largest extant marsupial. It is found across mainland Australia, except for the more fertile areas, such as southern Western Australia, the eastern and southeastern coasts, and the rainforests along the northern coast. The species is a very large kangaroo with long, pointed ears and a squared-off muzzle. Males have short, red-brown fur, fading to pale buff below…

Description Soooo, I’m thinking about making Nestle flatfooted like most of my other characters. I want his feet to be long like real kangaroo’s, but not in a way that would make walking look awkward. I’m also not sure how stocky to make his legs look either, but I guess that will depend on the world he’s in. I’ll have to figure things out soon enough. Let’s just say I have some plans for him. :]

Character model for the upcoming "Kao the Kangaroo" game. I was responsible for majority of characters for this game, here is one of them: Kao :) I had the pleasure to reimagine old Kao model and create his new, more up to date 3D body. I did sculpting, retopology, baking maps. I also partake in creative process during 3D design.
