The scalloped hammerhead (Sphyrna lewini) is one of 9 species of hammerhead sharks. These sharks all have unique hammer or shovel-shaped heads. The scalloped hammerhead is also known as the bronze, kidney-headed or southern hammerhead. Average size between 2.5 m and 3.0 m, maximum total length about 3.7 to 4.2 m.
