Casting is an early release of your wrist set that causes a backward leaning shaft at impact, which adds loft and decreases club head speed. When you’re struggling with casting your club, it’s nearly impossible to deliver your club to a solid impact position with a forward leaning shaft. To correct casting, your lower body needs to rotate. The only way you can maintain a good wrist set angle into your downswing is to rotate or clear your hips throughout your downswing.
