Cologne Cathedral in Germany .is the largest Gothic cathedral. In 1248 construction was started, 80 years later, dedicated to the world-famous choir. But it would take until 1880 before the church completely was.De DOM is 144 meters long, 86 meters wide and towers 157 meters high. Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart It is the 5th largest cathedral in the United States and is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey. The original design called for an English/Irish-gothic church but plans were later modified in favor of a French-gothic style. The construction started in 1899 and was completed in 1954.
