We planted this Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' more than 20 years ago and it now tree size (taller red leaved acer tree in above image). It was planted more than 20 years ago, at the same time as the smaller Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' below. Due to its location in the garden, the smaller 'Osakazuki' tree was maintained it to such a small size by careful annual winter pruning.
