I've only done this look a few times ever, and I freakin' love it. There's something about a subtle grain underneath a clean blank material that's just really easy to look at. This is wenge underneath the black paper micarta.

It's Monday, I double checked. On the agenda for this week: finalize the ice splitting sobakiri, edit and post part 1 of the Knife Fight Knife, photograph and send out a nice set, drink some beer, eat some ramen, make a new spinny video, grind and sand a new gyuto, and get some material for a special project. I literally wrote this out to organize my thoughts but I can pretend it was a profound, planned caption.

ASMR in the handle making process. Getting the hidden pins fitted before shaping the handle. There's a metal spacer that goes inbetween there, but we're leaving it out to make the process easier. That spacer gets rough shaped after to make it easier on the abrasives and the wood. This Yellow Cedar Burl gifted from @owlwoodworks is absolutely beautiful. Thank you again my friend.

Tomorrow will be a video on my approach for doing alignment pins on multi-piece handles. Nothing too crazy, not heavily edited or anything, just me talking shop. Similar format to the videos I'm doing more of on my Patreon.
