it's almost socks season | caitiecawley.substack.com
Note that I said it’s almost socks season. There’s still a few more weeks of 80° weather in New England and I won’t be putting my sandals or slides away just yet. However, I am a planner, especially when it comes to seasonal sartorial purchases. So if you would like to get your sock drawer in order* before the first brisk fall day, keep scrolling. One more parting thought: I think a lot of people only consider their sock choice when it comes to boots. Go beyond boots. Have fun socks to go with ballet flats, loafers, mary janes, sneakers, clogs… EVERYTHING. A detail as small as socks can truly make an outfit.

Welcome back to another installment of Second Best—where I search secondhand sites high and low for my favorite finds. Today, it’s all about fisherman knit sweaters. I had two fisherman sweaters from J.Crew for 10+ years that I sadly had to part ways with at the end of last season (one had holes in the cuffs, and the other had threads breaking under the arms). I picked up a Dôen sweater during their warehouse sale over the summer and it’s the perfect replacement.

Resurfacing on a social media platform after abandoning it for a few months always feels a bit uneasy. Just speaking from experience! My relationship with Instagram for the past decade has been a cycle of posting daily for a month, followed by radio silence for the next 3-6 months.
candlelight is my preferred lighting | caitiecawley.substack.com
It’s the first cold and rainy fall day (it’s currently 48°), and I’m digging through my saved folders in search of some cozy and comforting interiors. Today’s the perfect day to get a fire going, light a couple candles, and rot the rest of the day away on the couch. I adore candlelight in all forms—pillars, tapers, tea lights… all. of. it. I thought I would pull a few of my favorite saved photos and source similar candle décor.
