Day Dress, Matching Jacket and Parasol, by Sir Norman Hartnell, 1938, made for Queen Elizabeth, who wore it to a garden party in the Bagatelle Gardens in the Bois de Boulogne during her state visit to France. The queen would wear the same dress again in 1939 at Buckingham Palace for a series of photographs by Cecil Beaton.
