Very Photogenic Hen's Partty
These ladies were celebrating a friends Hen's Party and decided to have a day out with Cork 'n Fork Tours. Picked up in Brisbane and driven to the hinterland to taste at three venues enjoying white reds sparkling and fortified wines from around the region. These guys eloped to the mountain and got hitched in a lovely ceremony in the Botanical Gardens, they even managed to miss the rain. O'Reilly's Vineyard in the Canungra Valley are hand picking the Semillon grapes today. Wine club members are the pickers. This could be a very long day, but usually there are a great many members who avail themselves of this experience. The grapes when picked are placed in a big bin that holds approx 500kg of fruit. Our tours with Cork 'n Fork Tours are very versatile. When the group arrived at the lunch destination, during the wine tasting and welcome from the staff, our group were informed that the singer for the day was unavailable. One of our guest said that he plays and sings and would the establishment mind if he played a few songs. The first of the Chambourcin grapes to be harvested this season at Cedar Creek Estate and Vineyard. Jeff is in charge of removing the nets, organising the pickers and making sure that everything goes to plan on the day. The fruit looks to be exceptionally good at about 10.9 baume.   Fifteen rows hand picked on the first day and another 20+ picked the next day. The vines in the region have been netted now for a few weeks and this is done to protect the ripening fruit from the marauding rainbow loorikeets. These guys a waiting for the nets to be removed which is happening shortly. It's harvest time in the vineyard and the fruit will be hand picked and sent for processing at the winery. It hardly seems that twelve months have passed since this tour. This day was a surprise for the bride to be, she had no idea what was planned for the day. She had been told to dress in white and to be at the Nerang railway station by 10.15 am. When we arrived at Nerang station the remainder of the group were with the bide to be and we set out for Tamborine Mountain and the first location.
